The Zweckverband Stadt-Umland-Bahn was founded by the three cities of Nuremberg, Erlangen and Herzogenaurach as a joint organization. Its tasks are the planning, construction and operation of the Stadt-Umland-Bahn – currently one of the largest tram projects in Germany. We work to create a sustainable transport alternative for the region. The Stadt-Umland-Bahn (StUB) is intended to connect the cities of Nuremberg, Erlangen and Herzogenaurach and later also the villages east of Erlangen. Environmentally friendly. Accessible. Modern. The three cities and business locations are growing steadily and with them the number of jobs and residents. As a result, traffic congestion continues to increase. Our goal is therefore to create an efficient, environmentally friendly, and attractive alternative, especially concerning car traffic. It will open up important university, school and company locations as well as settlement areas and represent a sustainable mobility option, especially for the large number of commuters.
